The Kerala State Insurance Department operates under a well-defined administrative hierarchy to ensure efficient and effective delivery of insurance services across the state.
The Director serves as the Head of the Department and also functions as the Head of Office at the Directorate, located in Thiruvananthapuram. The Directorate is responsible for providing policy direction, administrative control, and overall supervision of departmental operations throughout Kerala.
The Department maintains 14 District Insurance Offices, each functioning under the jurisdiction of its respective district. These offices are headed by District Insurance Officers (DIOs), who act as the Heads of Office in their districts. Each District Insurance Office is tasked with the implementation and management of the Department’s insurance schemes and services within its jurisdiction.
These include:
- State Life Insurance
- Group Insurance
- General Insurance
- Other related activities
This decentralized structure enables the Department to provide responsive and localized services while maintaining uniformity in policy and administration at the state level.
