We provide Insurance and Social Welfare Schemes to State Government employees, teachers, and the full-time teaching and non-teaching staff of private educational institutions under the Direct Payment Scheme. Our services also extend to employees of Local Self Government Institutions, Universities, Public Sector Undertakings, Co-operative Institutions, Grant-in-aid Institutions in Kerala, and other semi-government bodies. We also undertake all types of General Insurance for institutions where the Government of Kerala has a substantial financial interest.
Registration with IRDA: The Department is registered in accordance with Section 3 of the Insurance Act, 1938.

As a Commercial Department, the Kerala State Insurance Department prepares Annual Financial Statements, which are duly certified and approved by the Accountant General. The Department consistently registers a surplus in both Life Insurance and General Insurance sectors, reflecting its commitment to efficient financial management, operational transparency, and long-term sustainability.
